Literary Inspirations

"The Gold Hill Inn Compendium" contains most of the recipes Casey used and will be a focus on my blog. Each recipe will be accompanied by an excerpt from the book. The Compendium has many stories written by Barbara Finn on her experiences of life in Gold Hill. Barbara personified the idea of brave and true with her endeavors to open a successful restaurant 10 miles from anywhere.
"The Little Book of Western Verse" by Eugene Field contains the poem that inspired my novel.
"Red Rock to Riches" by Silvia inspired the mining history of :Oh, Them Days on Red Hoss Mountain".
A Story of Gold Hill Colorado was written by Mable Montgomery in 1930 and was re-released by Silvia Pettem. The tiny book is packed with stories of life in Gold Hill in the early days.
